With what may be one of the most unique point of views from a female in a long time, Tiara Thomas releases a new solo version of her hit with Wale, “Bad,” with the Rico Love “TTLO” stamp of approval, with whom she just inked a deal with on his Division1/Interscope Records.

The track’s first verse is a sung version of Trillville’s 2005 hit, “Some Cut,” while the second version features a rap from the vocalist. Tiara Thomas is currently in the studio working on her debut album, tentatively titled Sallie Mae, and hopes to drop some time this year. Check it out!

Many were surprised when a clearly disenchanted Wale revealed that Tiara Thomas decided to take her services to another label. Out of respect, he never disclosed where the talented singer-songwriter and MC signed. Then again, he didn’t have to. The jig was up when listeners heard Rico Love’s “turn the lights on” tag on the songstress’ re-recorded solo version of “Bad.” Today, we receive official word that Thomas has a deal with the Grammy award-winning writer and producer’s Division 1 imprint through Interscope Records.

“Tiara is a gifted and versatile artist,” said John Janick, President of Interscope Geffen A&M, in a press statement. “We’re excited to work with Rico and Divison1 to develop and expose her extraordinary talent.”

Love added, “I’m extremely excited about Tiara Thomas being a member of the Division1 family. She’s an amazing talent, phenomenal vocalist, and one of the most creative songwriters I’ve heard in a while. We’re anxious to see how the world receives her. We have no doubt that they’ll love her as much as we do. #TTLO

According to Twitter, Wale is also still on good terms with Thomas despite the circumstances. “On the phone wit @Tiara_Thomas plottin on what’s next… That’s my nigha dere for the record. And for the record,” tweeted the MMG rapper. The two are said to have more collaborations in the works — he mentioned two songs called “Blow” and “Do It To U.”

For those who don’t know, 23-year-old Indianapolis native co-wrote and co-produced Wale’s “Bad.” The original version sans the DMV local dates back over two years.
