Album Review: “Eighteen Nightmares At The Lux” Black Milk EP

black milk

Blimey, this wakes me up from my slumber with a bang. These guys hail from London and sound like they are trying to wake up the Psychobilly Monstor by forcing a stick of dynamite down its throat. Fed a diet of bands such as the Cramps, Misfits and Demented are go, these guys take things into the modern age with their fuzzy guitars, distorted vocals and thumping bass.

The first track ‘Linger’ growls at you and continues to rip you apart with an amazing mass of distortion. Amazingly it is incredibly danceable and has me slam dancing with myself.

The second track Caroline starts slowly giving me a chance to catch my breath then speeds up and slows down again. This genre of music does at times lack subtly in both songwriting and musical composure but these guys are very skilled at doing both.

The third track ‘Sexy’ is my personal favourite. Completely raw and uncompromising it rocks along at a ferocious pace and has a great catchy chorus that etches itself into your brain. And yes it is as sexy as the title suggests.

This is a stunning EP and these guys are great live so check them out now!
