Snoop Lion says peace makes him “buzz like a bumblebee”.
The rapper is taking a stand against violence with his new album Reincarnated, which features tracks with anti-gun lyrics.
The 41-year-old hopes to leave a positive mark on the world and is doing all he can to make this his legacy.
“What makes me buzz is love, life and the pursuit of happiness,” he told MTV.
“Do what you do, but do it in a positive way, so no matter what, you leave a piece of positive energy. You’ll have planted a seed that’ll continue to grow. That’s what makes me buzz, peace, sort of like a bumblebee. Like a bee buzzing around and around.”
The controversial star has previously released songs with titles including Murder Was the Case and 187 On an Undercover Cop.
His new frame of mind can be attributed to the Rastafarian way of life he now follows.
Snoop doesn’t care what people think of his past, as he’s doing what he can to change the future.
“I don’t give a f**k about how I’m gonna be remembered, because I’ll be gone. While I’m still here I’ll say there isn’t anyone like me. No one does it like I do,” he explained.
“There’s so much gun violence in America that it’s beginning to creep over into elementary schools. I think musically we have a lot of power and I want to use my power for good, if I can just deter someone from doing something. I just want to stand up for something.”
