Gospel music is essentially the name given to the music of the African American church. Many urban genres have been influenced by Gospel Music and include Soul, Funk and R&B.
In fact the term “Soul music” is a reference to the influence of gospel music on R&B in the late 1960s. Hearing modern Gospel Music for the first time is similar to contemporary Funk, Soul, R&B but with rich, thick and energetic choral arrangements. Gospel Jamz is greatly inspired and influenced by artists such as Fred Hammond, John P. Kee, Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker, The Clark Sisters and Donald Lawrence.
